A Phoenix From the Ashes

A phoenix is a mythical being, representing the shedding of a previous life. In contrast to a butterfly, the phoenix’s ascension is associated with difficulty and pain. The creature symbolises the endless possibilities after a period or season of hardship. The hope that emerges from this transition, is embodied in a person who rises like the phoenix, from the ashes of their former self. This shift is permanent, there is no going back to what used to be.

Embracing the bittersweetness of life, is part of this shift. We can view challenges as teaching moments because in the end, we are all called to a season or seasons of suffering . Our souls can find hope in our trials, they can be used to make us more resilient. Lean into conflict, lean into difficulty, lean into grief. Gather information from the worst days of your life. Cry, pray, walk, run, whatever you need to do; wake up and carry your cross.

You will experience a morning, a moment when it will be easier to keep moving forward. Like a phoenix from the ashes, your previous life will fade away. Life will become an adventure, instead of something that is only filled with suffering. Your moment may have arrived, you might still be moving towards breakthrough, or it could be on the horizon. Personally, I think my phoenix moment is on the way and a new season in my life is about to begin. Hold on, keep going; hope isn’t a myth, it is a constant reality.
